Conference Description:

We welcome you to the XXVII ISAM Congress in Hamburg, Germany. We chose ‘Addiction Medicine – think globally, act locally’ as congress topic. We would like to encourage addiction specialists from all around the world to share their approaches and experiences with the congress attendees. We believe that discussing diverse backgrounds can enrich the perspectives on addiction in different cultural settings. The International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) is an international fellowship of physicians founded in 1998, dedicated to the advancement of knowledge in Addiction Medicine. ISAM achieves this through the recognition of physicians worldwide who play a significant role in its management, by enhancing the credibility of the physician’s role, and by emphasizing the importance of educational activities.

The congress is organized by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Addiction and Drug Research (Institut für interdisziplinäre Sucht- und Drogenforschung, ISD). The cooperation partners for the XXVII ISAM Congress are the University of Hamburg and the Academic Teaching Hospital Itzehoe. Additionally, the XVII ISAM Congress will offer a wide range of social activities, fully taking advantage of Hamburg’s historical and cultural richness.
