We welcome you to the XXVII ISAM Congress in Hamburg, Germany. We chose âAddiction Medicine â think globally, act locallyâ as congress topic. We would like to encourage addiction specialists from all around the world to share their approaches and experiences with the congress attendees. We believe that discussing diverse backgrounds can enrich the perspectives on addiction in different cultural settings. The ISAM Congress and the renowned Hamburger Suchttherapietage, a German addiction congress, will take place at the same time.
The International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) is an international fellowship of physicians founded in 1998, dedicated to the advancement of knowledge in Addiction Medicine. ISAM achieves this through the recognition of physicians worldwide who play a significant role in its management, by enhancing the credibility of the physicianâs role, and by emphasizing the importance of educational activities.
The congress is organized by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Addiction and Drug Research (Institut für interdisziplinäre Sucht- und Drogenforschung, ISD). The cooperation partners for the XXVII ISAM Congress are the University of Hamburg and the Academic Teaching Hospital Itzehoe. Additionally, the XVII ISAM Congress will offer a wide range of social activities, fully taking advantage of Hamburgâs historical and cultural richness.
